During #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, Daiichi Sankyo employees from around the globe reflect on what this month means to them and how we strive to support #breastcancer patients year-round.
To me, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a dedicated time to stop and think about the “why” behind our work: the patients living with breast cancer. During my career advocating for patients, I’ve learned how important it is to take the time to think about—and talk about—a range of patient experiences, as no two breast cancers are alike. We need to work together to ensure that every person impacted by this disease feels seen, heard, and most importantly, supported, all year long.
Gissoo Decottis Global Head of Advocacy & Strategic Relations, Global Medical Affairs, Oncology
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a dedicated time to make a deeper reflection of our role in how to translate innovation in quality of life improvements for our patients. It's time to reinforce our commitment and make even the small dreams and achievements come true. Our paramount goal in keeping cancer patients and their loved ones motivated is to keep moving forward.
Allyson Nakamoto Director, Oncology Business Unit
To me, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a dedicated time to reinvigorate myself to keep our efforts to provide innovative drugs for patients’ hope. To conquer cancer, we may need to recognize the patient journey even before patients are suffering from cancer.
Mayumi Kitagawa, PhD Senior Director, Oncology Research Laboratories, Research Function, R&D
To me, Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a dedicated time to celebrate life; celebrate the life of many around us: mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, friends that continue to be impacted in their very own by this disease. Let’s not give up on our joint mission and continue working together toward helping every person facing breast cancer.
Ana Abajo Guijarro Regional Medical Affairs Director, Oncology
