Daiichi Sankyo Announces Status Relating to Acquisition of Own Shares and Completion of Acquisition
(Based on the Articles of Incorporation pursuant to the provisions of Article 165,
Paragraph 2 of the Companies Act)
Tokyo, Japan (March 23, 2018) – Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited (hereafter, Daiichi Sankyo) today announced that it acquired its own shares based on the provisions of Article 156 of the Companies Act as applied by replacing the relevant terms pursuant to the provisions of Article 165, Paragraph 3 of the same act. The status of the acquisition is as described below.
Daiichi Sankyo also announced that it completed the acquisition of its own shares which was resolved at a meeting of its Board of Directors held on October 31, 2017.
1. Type of shares acquired: Ordinary shares of Daiichi Sankyo
2. Total number of shares acquired: 2,248,500 shares
3. Aggregate amount of acquisition cost: ¥ 8,427,479,400
4. Acquisition period: From March 1, 2018 to March 22, 2018
5. Acquisition method: Purchase on the Tokyo Stock Exchange
